BQ will launch Aquaris E4.5 and Aquaris E5 Ubuntu OS smartphones in India

Spanish device-maker BQ has launched Aquaris E4.5 and Aquaris E5 Ubuntu edition smart phones in India. The both mobiles will be available exclusively on Snapdeal by end of the August. The Aquaries E4.5 will cost Rs.11,999, and the Aquaris E5 priced at Rs.13,499.

“There’s been palpable demand for Ubuntu phones in India since the Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition was launched earlier this year. India has long been, and continues to be, a priority market for Ubuntu, having had a successful and established PC business in the region for many years,” the company said.

The Aquarius E4.5 sports a 4.5-inch Quad HD IPS display, with resolution of 540x960pixelsand Dragontrail protection. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek Processor, along with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is expand storage option up to 32GB via microSD card.

The Aquarius E4.5 Ubuntu edition features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, dual flash, and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The E4.5 comes packed with a 2,150mAh Li-Po battery.Connectivity options on the front includes 2G, 3G,Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB with OTG, and FM radio.

The Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Edition comes with a 5-inch HD display; it is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM, the Aquaris E5 Ubuntu comes with 16GB of internal storage and device supports expand storage option up to 32GB via microSD card slot. The E5 sports a 13-megapixel rea camera with dual LED flash and a BSI sensor and Largan Lens along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats. Both the dual SIM devices will be available in Black colour.
